Albert Hall Museum in Jaipur

The Albert Hall Museum in Jaipur is the principal museum of the State of Rajasthan. The building itself was completed in 1887, designed by British architect Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob in the Indo-Saracenic architectural style which was used widely in the construction of public building across the British Empire. Initially the building was intended to be used as government offices but instead became a museum from the outset following the wishes of the local Maharaja who had an interest in preserving the history of Rajastan. The Albert Hall Museum is open every day, except for public holidays and periodic maintenance days, from 09:00 to 17:00 and again from 19:00 to 22:00, and admission costs 300 INR for foreign visitors and 40 INR for Indian Nationals.
